In the first quarter of the financial year 2022/ 2023, the Group’s unaudited consolidated net turnover was 11.4 million euros which is an increase of 46 % compared to the first quarter of the financial year 2021/2022. The Group ended the first quarter of the financial year 2022/2023 with a profit of EUR 2.56 million (unaudited).

The turnover of the region of the countries of North and Latin America amounted to 69%, or EUR 8.8 million. Compared to the same quarter turnover last financial year, the turnover increased by 58%.

The turnover of the region of Europe and the CIS countries is 18%, or EUR 2 million, which is 1% less than in the 1st quarter of the previous financial year. Compared to the corresponding quarter of the last financial year, the turnover of Asia, Africa and the Middle East region doubled and accounts for 14% of the total quarterly turnover (or EUR 1.6 million).

The Group’s costs did not exceed the planned levels, and The Group continues to invest in the development of new products and product modifications.

The Group completed the 1st quarter of the financial year 2022/2023 with a profit of EUR 2.56 million (unaudited). The result of the first quarter of the previous year was profit of EUR 1.52 million.

The Group’s net cash balance at the end of the period was EUR 3.12 million. To ensure liquidity, in the 1st quarter of the financial year 2022/2023, the parent company entered into a Credit Line Agreement with Luminor Bank AS for the total amount of EUR 4.95 million. The credit line was not used in the reporting quarter.

Since the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine by Russia, the overall uncertainty of the business environment has increased. Although its direct impact on the Group’s activities is relatively limited, the Group carefully assesses possible cost growth forecasts and potential risks. The Group’s operations are affected by the global shortage of various electronic components. Supply chains remain difficult – alternative transportation options increase delivery times and costs. The company regularly reviews procurement volumes and deadlines, and continues to accumulate inventory in order to be able to fulfil most of the orders within normal lead times. This applies to all SAF product families – microwave links, Spectrum Compact and Aranet.

The Group continues to explore market demand and problematic issues in order to be able to provide necessary product modifications, as well as continues investments in product development. The goal of the Company is to stabilize sales levels to ensure a positive net result in the long term.

We invite all shareholders to participate in the meeting online without a physical presence. The shareholders, who want to participate in the meeting on-site, must inform about their arrival on the premises by the end of working day 5 December, 2022.

The published voting form must be used for voting. Such a vote will be taken into account if received by the end of 5 December 2022. Shareholders with such a vote will be considered present at the shareholders' meeting. A shareholder who has voted before the shareholders' meeting may ask the Company to confirm the receipt of the vote. The Company shall send a confirmation to the shareholder immediately upon receipt of the shareholder's vote.

If a shareholder has voted before the meeting, this does not prevent him from attending the meeting in person or joining the meeting remotely and participating in the voting. In this case, the vote previously cast by the shareholder will be canceled and the vote cast during the meeting will be taken into account.

Only persons or entities which are shareholders on the date of record will be entitled to participate in the shareholders’ meeting. The date of record is the end of the day of 28 November 2022.

Shareholders who have applied for the meeting remotely using the link provided must join the meeting at 9.30 a.m. and be prepared to present an identity document by video so that the Chairman of the meeting can compare the image of the shareholder or representative with the image shown in the identity document. Net turnover of the “SAF Tehnika” Group in the 2021/2022 financial year was 33.97 million euros, which is by 8.95 million euros or 36% higher than in the previous financial year. The net turnover of the Parent company in FY 2021/2022 was EUR 29.14 million, which is by EUR 8.15 million higher than in the previous FY 2020/2021. The Board of the Parent company proposes to pay dividends of EUR 2 million.

“SAF Tehnika” publishes its audited consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements for financial year 2021/ 2022 (from July 1, 2021- June 30, 2022) according to Section 56th, 5th paragraph of „Law on the Financial Instruments Market”

During the reporting year, the development and improvement of the microwave wireless data transmission product line continued. Solutions were found to improve functionality and quality indicators, and to reduce production costs. The Group continued to design and develop the Aranet functionality – the new Internet of Things (IoT) environmental monitoring solution, as well as kept on working on the Aranet Cloud service.

Exports made 98.59% of the turnover and amounted to EUR 33.49 million. During the reporting year, the Group exported its products to 81 countries worldwide. 

The Group’s activities were affected by the worldwide shortage of various electronic components. Due to the war in Ukraine, supply chains are still in trouble – alternative transportation routes increase delivery times and costs. As in times of global pandemic, the company regularly reviews procurement volumes and deadlines, and continues to accumulate inventory in order to be able to fulfil most of the orders within normal lead times. This applies to all SAF product families – microwave links, Spectrum Compact and Aranet. 

During the reporting year, the Group invested EUR 1.68 million into IT infrastructure, production and research equipment, purchase of software and licenses, product certification, as well as in the renovation of premises.

The Group completed the financial year 2021/2022 with a profit of EUR 6.09 million.

The Parent company’s financial result for FY 2021/2022 was a profit of EUR 5.75 million EUR. The overall increase in turnover ensured successful performance.

The Board of the Parent company proposes to pay dividends of EUR 2 million.

During the exhibition SAF Tehnika presented Integra, Spectrum Compact and Aranet product series. Visitors of „SAF Tehnika” stand were mainly from different regions of UAE and other countries.

JSC "SAF TEHNIKA" continues to implement Project No. NP-2021/4 " Introduction of a new cloud computing service to expand data analytics capabilities of IoT sensors and ensure continuity of service (SAF Aranet Cloud Analytic)".

Work continues on the development of an information system for the provision of the new service. It has been concluded agreement for the purchase of servers and server switches and the first deliveries have been processed. 4 employees are actively involved in the implementation of the project, who provide software development and ensure the supervision of the technical project.

At the moment, the 1st payment request and the progress report have been submitted and approved by LIAA. It is planned to complete the project within the previously specified deadline December 31, 2023.

Working together for a green, competitive, and inclusive Europe

In the fourth quarter of the financial year 2021/2022, the Group’s unaudited consolidated net turnover was 8.4 million euros, which is 2% more than in the fourth quarter of the FY 2020/2021. The Group ended the fourth quarter of the financial year 2021/2022 with a profit of EUR 824 thousand (unaudited). The unaudited consolidated result of the financial year 2021/2022 is profit of EUR 5.96 million.

The turnover of the region of the countries of North and Latin America amounted to 64%, or EUR 5.4 million. Compared to the same quarter turnover last financial year, the turnover increased by 7%.

The turnover of the region of Europe and the CIS countries is 28%, or EUR 2.3 million. Compared to the corresponding quarter of the last financial year, the turnover of Asia, Africa and the Middle East region decreased by 4% and accounts for 8% of total quarterly turnover (or EUR 675 thousand).

In the reporting quarter, the Group’s products were sold in 66 countries.

The Group’s expenditures did not exceed the planned volumes and were generally higher than in the same period a year earlier, which is due to the increase in the number of employees, investment in sales promotion in existing and new market segments. The Group continues to invest in the development of new products and modification of existing products.

The Group’s unaudited consolidated turnover for the financial year 2021/2022 was EUR 33.97 million, which is 35% more than the amount of revenue in the previous financial year.

The consolidated unaudited result of the financial year 2021/2022 is profit of EUR 5.96 million. The Group’s profit for the previous financial year 2020/2021 was EUR 3.88 million. The Group’s net cash balance at the end of the period was 2.8 million euros.In the 4th quarter of the financial year 2021/2022, EUR 856 thousand were invested in the acquisition of fixed assets (total EUR 1.68 million in the financial year).

In the final quarter of the financial year, in order to strengthen its position in the international market and promote brand and product recognition, SAF Tehnika participated in 16 international exhibitions, covering industries of different scale in the USA, Europe and Asia. At the same time, great emphasis was placed on digital marketing activities and e-commerce, promoting both brand awareness and increasing sales figures.

In the third quarter of the financial year 2021/2022, the Group’s unaudited consolidated net turnover was 8.6 million euros, which is 46% more than in the third quarter of the FY 2020/2021. The Group ended the third quarter of the financial year 2021/2022 with a profit of EUR 1.65 million (unaudited). The unaudited consolidated result for the 9-month period of the financial year 2021/2022 is profit of EUR 5.14 million.

The turnover in North and Latin Americas was 49% or EUR 4.2 million. Compared to the turnover in the same quarter of the previous financial year, the turnover increased by 9%.

The turnover in Europe and CIS countries amounts to 37% or EUR 3.2 million, which is 82% more than in the 3rd quarter of the previous financial year. The turnover of the AMEA (Asia, Middle East, Africa) region grew 4 times compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year and accounts for 14% or EUR 1.2 million.

In the reporting quarter, the Group’s products were sold in 62 countries.

The Group’s unaudited consolidated turnover for the 9-month period of the financial year 2021/2022 was EUR 25.57 million, which is 48% more than the amount of revenue in the previous financial year.

The Group’s expenditures did not exceed the planned volumes and were generally higher than in the same period a year earlier, which is due to the increase in the number of employees, investment in sales promotion in existing and new market segments. The Group continues to invest in the development of new products and modification of existing products.

The unaudited consolidated result for the 9-month period of the financial year 2021/2022 is profit of EUR 5.14 million. The Group’s profit for the 9 months of the previous financial year 2020/2021 was EUR 2.11 million. The Group’s net cash balance at the end of the period was 4.6 million euros.

In the third quarter, special emphasis was placed on raising awareness and competitiveness of the Aranet brand in global markets. A brand strategy and a new visual identity have been developed, along with a brand story in a video format and a new Aranet.com website that provides a much more transparent and clear view of Aranet products and solutions offered.

According to the agreement No.  SKV-L-2016/152 concluded between „SAF Tehnika” JSC and government institution „The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia” of a project „Participation of „SAF Tehnika” JSC in international exhibitions”, on April 23-27 company exhibited at “NAB Show 2022” in Las Vegas Convention Center, USA.

According to the agreement No.SKV-L-2016/152 concluded on between „SAF Tehnika” JSC and government institution „The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia” of a project „Participation of „SAF Tehnika” JSC in international exhibitions”, on April 11-13 company exhibited at “CCA 2022” which took place at Tampa, FL, USA.

During the exhibition, "CCA 2022" SAF North America presented Spectrum Compact and SG Compact product lines. The majority of “SAF Tehnika” booth visitors were microwave engineers and regulators from the United States.

On 09.12.2021 JSC "SAF TEHNIKA" and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia have signed an agreement on project No. NP-2021/4 "Introduction of a new cloud computing service to expand data analytics capabilities of IoT sensors and ensure continuity of service (SAF Aranet Cloud Analytic)", and have already started project implementation activities. 

The project goal is improvement of the productivity and competitiveness of JSC “SAF TEHNIKA” by introducing a new cloud computing service for expansion of IoT sensor data analysis and ensuring continuity of the service by using high performance infrastructure, thus ensuring upgraded and sustainable provision of the service. The project will be implemented in the following ICT areas: Internet of Things, Big Data and Cloud Computing.

By introducing a new service, JSC “SAF TEHNIKA” will provide a competitive advantage over other IoT sensor manufacturers, as the new cloud service solution will provide much wider functionality in the field of Big Data accounting and analytics, providing high usability and the full cycle, end-to-end service to customers (single manufacturer’s IoT servers and a cloud computing solution with the capabilities of advanced data analytics).

In the result of the Project the new service will be provided in an upgraded and sustainable manner, because high performance infrastructure which is suitable for processing of the big data will be used for its provision, moreover, it will be redundant, in particular, the infrastructure for the provision of service will be located at 2 independent venues, by reducing the impact of external factors and ensuring the operation continuity 24/7, which would not be dependent on the network connection and the system maintenance preventive works.

The project will have positive environment impact, as the hardware providing the new service (servers, server switchboards) will secure lower energy consumption in comparison to the hardware at the Project Applicant’s disposal. According to the energy auditor’s calculations, the CO2 emission reduction will equal 217,78  tCO2/year and energy consumption reduction will equal 2137,20 MWh/year.

The project will involve a partner from the Kingdom of Norway: AUTOP.NO., which will share knowledge and best practices on IoT systems and evaluate the new service in a specific industry. Within the framework of the Project, a service evaluation will be performed in integration & communication with SCADA control system as part of manufacturing process automation.

The main activities of the Project are:

1. Purchasing the equipment necessary for providing the service;

1.1. Purchasing of servers and servers switches;

1.2. Purchasing of a set of support equipment.

2. Measures related to the implementation of the new service:

2.1. Involvement of employees in the Project to ensure the new service;

2.2. Development of information system to ensure the new service;

3. Knowledge transfer activities with the Project Partner from the donor country (Norway);
4. Implementation of information and communication measures

The planned results of the Project:

-        1 set of servers and servers switches;

-        1 set of support equipment;

-        6 employment contracts;

-        1 information system;

-        1 partnership contract;

-        12 information and communication measures.

Total costs of the project: 886 711,11 EUR, 751 215,79 EUR of them eligible costs. The planned support of Norway is 338 047,09  EUR or 45% of the Project’s eligible costs.

It is planned to implement the project till 31^st of December 2023.

Jauna mākoņskaitļošanas pakalpojuma ieviešana IoT sensoru datu analīzes iespēju paplašināšanai un pakalpojuma nepārtrauktības nodrošināšanai (SAF Aranet  Cloud Analytic)

AS “SAF TEHNIKA” un Latvijas investīciju un attīstības aģentūra 09.12.2021. ir parakstījusi līgumu par Projekta Nr. NP-2021/4 “Jauna  mākoņskaitļošanas pakalpojuma ieviešana IoT sensoru datu analīzes iespēju paplašināšanai un pakalpojuma nepārtrauktības nodrošināšanai (SAF Aranet  Cloud Analytic)”, un jau ir uzsākusi Projekta īstenošanas darbības. 

Projekta mērķis ir AS “SAF TEHNIKA” produktivitātes un konkurētspējas paaugstināšana, ieviešot jaunu mākoņskaitļošanas pakalpojumu IoT sensoru datu analīzes iespēju paplašināšanai un tā darbības nepārtrauktības nodrošināšanai, izmantojot augstas veiktspējas infrastruktūru. Projekts tiks īstenots šādās IKT jomās: lietu internets, lielie dati un mākoņskaitļošana.

Jaunais mākoņpakalpojuma risinājums nodrošinās daudz plašāku funkcionalitāti lielo datu uzskaites un analītikas jomā, nodrošinot augsta līmeņa lietojamību (usability) un pilna cikla end to end pakalpojuma piedāvāšanu klientiem (viena ražotāja IoT serveri un mākoņskaitļošnas risinājums ar paplašinātām datu analītikas iespējām).

Ieviešot jaunu pakalpojumu AS “SAF TEHNIKA” nodrošinās konkurētspējas priekšrocības pret citiem IoT sensoru ražotājiem, jo jaunais mākoņpakalpojuma risinājums nodrošinās daudz plašāku funkcionalitāti lielo datu uzskaites un analītikas jomā, nodrošinot augsta līmeņa lietojamību (usability) un pilna cikla end to end pakalpojuma piedāvāšanu klientiem (viena ražotāja IoT serveri un mākoņskaitļošnas risinājums ar paplašinātām datu analītikas iespējām).

Projekta rezultātā jaunais pakalpojums tiks piegādāts modernizētā un ilgtspējīgā veidā, jo tā nodrošināšanai tiks izmantota augstas veiktspējas infrastruktūra, kas būs piemērota lielo datu apstrādei, kā arī tā būs redundanta -  pakalpojuma sniegšanas infrastruktūra tiks izvietota 2 neatkarīgās vietās, mazinot ārējo faktoru ietekmi un nodrošinot darbības nepārtrauktību 24/7, kas nebūtu atkarīga no tīkla pieslēguma, un sistēmas maintance profilaktiskajiem darbiem.

Projektam būs pozitīva ietekme uz vidi, jo jauno pakalpojumu nodrošinošās iekārtas (serveri, starpserveru komutatori) nodrošinās zemāku enerģijas patēriņu salīdzinot ar Projekta iesniedzēja rīcībā esošajām iekārtām. Atbilstoši energoauditora veiktajiem aprēķiniem tiks nodrošināts CO2 emisiju samazinājums 217,78 tCO2/gadā un enerģijas patēriņa samazinājums 2137,20 MWh gadā

Projektā tiks iesaistīts partneris no Norvēģijas karalistes AutUP AS, kas Projekta īstenošanas laikā nodrošinās zināšanu pārnesi un labāko praksi attiecībā uz pilnīgas rūpnieciskās automatizācijas un IoT sistēmu risinājumiem. Partneris sniegs savu  vērtējumu par jaunā pakalpojuma pieejamību un izmantošanu Projekta iesniedzēja līdz šim neapkalpotajās vertikālajās industrijās – ražošanas uzņēmumos, kas izmanto SCADA (Supervisory control and data acquisition) kontroles un vadības sistēmas ražošanas procesu automatizācijai.

Projekta galvenās darbības:

1. Jauna pakalpojuma sniegšanai nepieciešamo iekārtu iegāde:

SAF Tehnika has developed a new base station, Aranet PRO+, for the Aranet ecosystem within the European collaboration project CHARM. The hardware of Aranet PRO+ has several improvements, among which the body of the base station has an IP67 protection class.

The improved protection class means the base station is ready for use in special environments without purchasing an additional IP67 protection case. Within the CHARM project, Aranet PRO+ will be tested at the Sandvik test mine in Tampere, Finland.

The engineers at SAF Tehnika and Aranet IoT are developing a new particulate matter (PM) sensor. The PM sensor monitors particulate pollution in the air, which is often used as a proxy for the overall air quality. 

Within this CHARM project, the sensor is intended for general indoor environments and underground mines, where the concentration of particulate pollutants can affect the health and safety of people working there.

So far, SAF Tehnika has tested the PM sensor’s prototypes within the company. The next step is to perform field tests of the completed sample products in the Sandvik mines in Tampere, Finland. 

In the second quarter of the financial year 2021/2022, the Group’s unaudited consolidated net turnover was9.2 million euros, which is 37% more than in the second quarter of the FY 2020/2021. The Group ended the second quarter of the financial year 2021/2022 with a profit of EUR 1.97 million (unaudited). The unaudited consolidated result for the 6-month period of the financial year 2021/2022 is profit of EUR 3.49 million.

The turnover in North and Latin Americas was 45% or EUR 4.1 million. Compared to the turnover in the same quarter of the previous financial year, the turnover decreased by 9%.

The turnover in Europe and CIS countries amounts to 45% or EUR 4.1 million, which is 2.5 times more than in the 2nd quarter of the previous financial year. The turnover of the AMEA (Asia, Middle East, Africa) region grew by 37%, compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, and accounts for 10%, or EUR 932 thousand.

In the reporting quarter, the Group’s products were sold in 62 countries.

The Group’s unaudited consolidated turnover for the 6-month period of the financial year 2021/2022 was EUR 16.97 million, which is 49% more than the amount of revenue in the previous financial year.

The Group’s expenditures did not exceed the planned volumes and were generally higher than in the same period a year earlier, which is due to the increase in the number of employees, investment in sales promotion in existing and new market segments. The Group continues to invest in the development of new products and modification of existing products.

The unaudited consolidated result for the 6-month period of the financial year 2021/2022 is profit of EUR 3.49 million. The Group’s profit for the 6 months of the previous financial year 2020/2021 was EUR 1.14 million. The Group’s net cash balance at the end of the period was 4.8 million euros.

In early December, a new e-commerce platform was opened, where all Aranet products are available to customers from both Europe and the United States. In addition, development of the Aranet4 application was carried out to improve its usability.

The Group’s operations are affected by the global shortage of various electronic components. By regularly reviewing supply volumes and deadlines, the company still continues to accumulate material reserves in order to be able to fulfil most of the orders within normal lead times. This applies to all SAF product families – microwave links, Spectrum Compact and Aranet.

Pētniecības projekta īss apraksts – Pētījuma laikā mērķis ir iegūt visaptverošu informāciju par reālā laika analizatora uzbūves detaļām konkrētā pielietojumā, kā arī izpētīt pieejamos elementus un to mijedarbību, lai nodrošinātu optimālus parametrus formas, masas, energopatēriņa, mērīšanas parametru un funkciju ziņā.

Pētniecības projekta mērķa sasniegšanai paredzēts veikt šādas aktivitātes:

- Reālā laika analizatora uzbūves un praktiski sasniedzamo parametru izpēte.

- Iekārtas arhitektūras un signāla apstrādes sistēmas koncepcijas izstrāde.

- Elementu bāzes analīze un iekārtas implementācijai visefektīvāko platformu izvēle.

Pētniecības projekta rezultāts – Pēc pētījuma beigām, iegūtā informācija ļaus tālāk izvērtēt nepieciešamos resursus pilnvērtīga produkta izstrādei.

Veiksmīga pētījuma projekta noslēgumā, izmantojot esošo SAF Tehnika pieredzi spektra analizatoru tirgū, ir potenciāls izveidot iekārtu, kas ir paredzēta konkrētiem uzdevumiem lauka apstākļos.

Līdz pētniecības projekta noslēgumam tiks veiktas signāla apstrādes algoritmu simulācijas, to pārbaudes maketā un piemērotu komponenšu piemeklēšana.
